Introverts, man. We’re weird sometimes. Like, “I love you, but I need to go over here by myself right now.”

Reason why I no longer eat there.

At first I was thinking “but McDonald’s burger didn’t go bad”, but then my slow ass got the point.

But then what are we eating?

Time

Flashback to the times
Of us where we never were
In a rush
There was so much time
In our hands
But fast forward to the
Present were I am stuck
Staring at clocks
And remembering times
When I was happy.

Fly

I was a bird
A flew so high
No one could stop
Me or see but
I saw everyone else
Until you came and
Shot me down
To earth
Leaving me to wait
From wounds to heal
Until I can fly again

You say he’s lonely
but a closer look shows
our attitude
guides struggles into
grand adventures

and whispers sweet nothings
in the faces of our
enemies

His hand was never far from mine
For calls on nights I could’ve died
It’s true - I nearly slipped away
When figures felt stripped bare and thin
For all his talk of lines in sand
We sure found commonalities
When life was on the line

US MARINE IN CUSTODY IN MURDER OF JENNIFER LAUDE

A United States Marine is being held in custody after Jeffrey “Jennifer” Laude, a 26 year old Filipina Transgender, was found brutally murdered in an Olongapo City hotel on Saturday. The suspect has been identified as Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton and is being held by the United States Navy aboard a ship in the Philippines. Details are mixed, but according to some reports, Laude and a friend met Pemberton at a local disco bar and later went to a hotel where Laude became nervous and asked to leave before it was discovered that she was Transgender. What happened next is still a mystery but later that night, she was found savagely beaten, bruised, strangled, and drowned in a toilet. Angry protestors have taken to the streets demanding the United States military leave and transfer Pemberton into Filippino custody. The Philippine Government is reassuring the family and the country that everything will be done to achieve justice. Many protestors say this has brought back harsh memories of the 2005 raping of Suzette Nicolas, a Filipina Transgender who was abused in a moving vehicle by an American Marine while 3 others watched and cheered. Lance Corporal Daniel Smith was found guilty of the rape and sentenced to 40 years imprisonment, Lance Corporals Keith Silkwood and Dominic Duplantis and Staff Sergeant Chad Carpentier were all acquitted. In 2009 the conviction was overturned and Smith was released and allowed to leave the country. Corky Hope Maranan, who leads a Transgender and Lesbian group locally, said “If he remains in U.S. custody, certainly he can escape from our justice system again. We don’t want another Daniel Smith.”

My heart goes out to Jennifer, her friends and family, the Transgender community of the Philippines, and all of those affected by this disgusting act of violence. The struggles that the Transgender community faces are often overlooked and forgotten, especially and most shamefully by the rest of the LGBT community, but we will all come together today to mourn one of our own, and demand justice.
